Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,221 per week in Rochester, NY

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – New York

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Rochester, New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every-other-weekend requirement. Day/Evening ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10). Patient Care Technicians support with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Highlights:

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with 20 beds, primarily serving cardiac and stroke patient populations
• Epic charting system required; must have prior Epic experience
• Float capabilities required within scope to Medical-Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Department units
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more
• 4-hour orientation provided; pre-start modules required (approximately 5-10 hours, with up to 5 hours billable)
• Adult and geriatric patient populations with focus on cardiac care and stroke management

Requirements:

• Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
• Epic charting system experience is mandatory
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV placement/insertion (required skills for all RNs)
• Experience with interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Proficiency in peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks), and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and rapid response team utilization
• Experience with special equipment including Hoyer lifts
• Ability to float between similar units as needed to meet facility requirements
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility location
• Time-off requests limited to no more than 7 days; no holiday time off available
