PALS certification preferred. Description: This position is for a MedSurg/Tele Observation RN. The unit has 10 beds with telemetry capability on all beds. Shifts are 12 hours, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and no cancellations. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in a MedSurg acute care setting. Support staff on the unit includes telemetry technicians, charge nurses, health unit coordinators, and patient care technicians. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during the day, and 1:6 at night, with a ratio of 1:4 for pediatric patients, depending on the level of acuity. Nurse managers do not provide direct patient care, but they conduct rounds. Nurses may float to all MedSurg units and ICU to take MedSurg overflow patients if required. Any color of scrubs is acceptable, but scrubs will not be provided. The charting system used is Allscripts.
