Job Summary:

Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves caring for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients on a 41-bed inpatient unit specializing in hematology, oncology, stem cell transplants, and palliative care. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, including administering chemotherapy, managing central lines, and assisting with complex procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and stem cell transplants. The position offers the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge therapies and research initiatives within a Magnet-designated facility.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, 0700 - 1930, every other weekend. Holidays on rotation.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN); experience with Epic electronic charting system; a minimum of 3 years recent experience in Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (Heme/ONC/BMT), level 1 trauma, or similar size hospital; current chemotherapy certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or National Certification Corporation (ONCC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience; community hospital experience; leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor cancer care experience; prior trauma level II experience; travel experience.
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: Care for patients with complex disease processes including leukemia, lymphoma, Graft-Versus-Host Disease, and post-transplant care. Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and immunotherapy; manage central lines and ports; perform biopsies; utilize advanced oncology procedures and therapies; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Additional Information: Must pass a telemetry interpretation exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to start. A telemetry test will be required with strict passing criteria. Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
