Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights or nights only based on departmental needs. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Float requirements to equivalent or lower acuity units. One pre-approved time off period available.
Highlights:
- 36-bed medical/surgical oncology unit specializing in adolescent and young adult (AYA) patient population
- Patient ratio 1:4 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Epic EMR system with 72 hours of orientation provided
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus sickle cell crises
- Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration and symptom management
- Equipment includes GE telemetry system, Alaris pumps, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience required (must be current within the last 12 months)
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, IV starts, chest tube assistance, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
