Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary:

This position requires a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg unit, specializing in Orthopedic and Neurological conditions. The nurse will work nights and every other weekend, providing care to a diverse patient population and ensuring comprehensive assessments and interventions.

Unit Description:

The unit includes 32 beds, divided into Phippen 6 and Phippen 7, accommodating orthopedic and neurological surgical patients along with medical overflow patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor telemetry data, accurately interpret telemetry strips, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Conduct thorough neuro assessments and develop effective care plans for patients.
• Provide patient education and support to enhance recovery and rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records through the EPIC system.
• Float to applicable units as requested when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg setting and 2 years of travel nursing experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including floating between units and rotating shifts as needed.
• Strong clinical skills in neuro assessment and telemetry monitoring.

Patient Care Ratio:

• Day and Evening shifts: 1 nurse to 4 or 5 patients.
• Night shift: 1 nurse to 5 or 6 patients.
