Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Assignment Type: Registered Nurse travel contract
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Shift: Night shift, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Unit Focus: Inpatient oncology medical-surgical telemetry
- Documentation: Epic
- Floating: May be required to other medical-surgical oncology units
- Weekend Coverage: Variable according to unit needs
Oncology Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, either compact or Ohio state license, in hand at submission
- At least 2 years of current, consistent acute-care experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing within the past 12 months
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated proficiency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred
- Experience with oncology nursing, brachytherapy, continuous bladder irrigation, neobladder care, or clinical trials preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, feeding tubes, surgical drains, tracheostomy care, PCA pumps, and Foley catheters
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Oncology Nursing Society chemotherapy certification preferred
- Professional references required, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Flu vaccination required, with medical exemptions considered
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers.
- Administer chemotherapy safely and monitor patients for treatment-related complications and adverse reactions.
- Monitor telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions for changes in patient condition.
- Support patients receiving brachytherapy, continuous bladder irrigation, neobladder care, and other specialized oncology treatments.
- Assist with clinical trial activities, data collection, and accurate patient documentation.
- Manage IV therapy, blood products, central lines, feeding tubes, surgical drains, epidurals, PCA pumps, NG tubes, and Foley catheters.
- Apply infection prevention and fall prevention protocols consistently.
- Complete timely assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and participate in emergency and rapid response interventions as needed.
