Description:
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a similar setting is necessary.
Candidates should be capable of caring for adults and geriatrics with various acute medical and surgical conditions.
Common diagnoses include heart failure, infections, cardiac catheterization, pneumonia, stroke, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, and urinary tract infections.
Proficiency in post-care for pacemaker and cardiac catheterization procedures is essential.
Registered Nurses should be familiar with managing cardiac drips and heparin drips.
Experience with paternal dialysis is preferred.
Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry.
Candidates must be able to manage central lines and perform continuous bladder irrigation.
The role requires the interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
Isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment are critical.
Registered Nurses will manage patients on telemetry and respond to rapid response or code teams as needed.
Wound care and the use of wound vacs are integral to patient care in this position.
Staffing ratios are approximately five patients per nurse on all shifts.
Interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.
