Experience with adult patients; pediatrics are assigned to permanent staff. Ability to float to all Med Surg units and ICU. Description: The unit has 24 beds with Tele capability on all beds. There is a heavy emphasis on telemetry. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Ratios may also depend on the level of acuity. There is support staff available on the unit, including telemetry techs and patient care techs. The nurse managers do not provide patient care, but they conduct rounds. A hospitalist is available in-house 24/7. Respiratory therapists and pharmacists are available 24/7. Scrub colors can vary, but all black is not permitted. Scrubs are not provided by the facility.
