Description:
The position is for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse.
The start date is ASAP.
Shifts are 3x12 hour nights from 19:00 to 07:30.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Every other weekend is required, with occasional every third weekend.
Candidates should be open to accommodating a block schedule.
Pending state licenses are not accepted.
Requests for time off need to be submitted at the time of the application.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5.
No floating to other units is required at this time.
Common patient diagnoses include CHF, DM, orthopedic, chest pain, pneumonia, and COPD.
The unit is equipped for insulin and Cardizem drips, with no ventilators.
The facility utilizes EPIC for charting and requires experience with the system.
Daily census ranges from 10 to 12 patients.
Interdisciplinary support teams include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Wound care experience is also beneficial.
Candidates should be proficient in various nursing skills such as blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and IV management.
The unit operates under specific protocols for insulin and heparin administration.
This role requires managing cardiac drips without titration and interpreting dysrhythmias.
