Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of combined permanent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state nursing license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification must be obtained before the start date
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• One recent specialty reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, director, or charge nurse from within the past 12 months
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• Ability to complete required background screening, fingerprinting, health screening, and pre-start education
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize changes in patient condition
• Interpret dysrhythmias and initiate appropriate interventions within scope of practice
• Administer medications safely and accurately while evaluating patient responses
• Perform assessments, develop and update individualized plans of care, and document patient progress
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
• Escalate clinical concerns promptly and respond effectively to changes in patient status
