Description:
RNs will be required to demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
This is a critical skill for all RNs in the unit.
The patient ratios during the day/evening shifts are 5 to 1, with a stretch to 6-7.
Night ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1, stretching to 8-10 if staff members call in.
Patient Care Technicians will be present on all units to handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.
Candidates must have experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Familiarity with the use of rapid response teams is essential.
The position will involve peripheral line care and management.
Candidates should also be skilled in administering oxygen through nasal cannulas and face masks.
Experience with portable oxygen tanks and non-invasive airway management is required.
Adherence to isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment is a must.
The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions.
Applicants should have experience using EPIC charting systems.
