Description:
This is a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital.
It has Magnet designation and is also a Primary Stroke Center.
The facility has a total of 273 beds, including a Level II NICU.
The unit has 36 beds, providing care for General PCU/Cardiac/Tele patients.
Patient types include post-cath lab, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and basic wound care.
Patient ratios are 1 RN to 4 patients during the day shift and 1 RN to 5 patients during the night shift.
The CNA ratio is 1 CNA to 8 patients during both day and night shifts.
Supported by a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) available 24/7.
Charge nurses take patient assignments during the night shift.
Phlebotomy services are available.
An IV/VAT team is available until 10 PM.
Respiratory therapy services are provided 24/7.
Clientists are available around the clock.
Wound care nurses are consulted as needed.
Telemetry monitoring is centralized with dedicated telemetry technicians.
The electronic medical record system in use is EPIC.
IV pumps in use are Alaris.
Medication dispensing utilizes Pyxis systems.
There is no floating to other units.
Weekend rotation is required every other weekend.
Time off must be approved by management.
Scrub color is navy blue.
