Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on medical-surgical and telemetry care to join our orthopedic surgical unit. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements and spinal surgeries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical orthopedics.
• Experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care and management.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly EPIC.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with total joint replacements and spinal surgery.

Job Details

• Average daily census: 34 patients; total rooms/beds: 48.
• Available shifts: 3 x 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15).
• Travelers accepted; 13-week contracts available.
• Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Floats may be required based on unit census.

Patient Population

This unit is focused on providing surgical care, primarily for orthopedic procedures. Common patient diagnoses include:

• Total knee replacements
• Total hip replacements
• Spinal fusions
• Hip fractures
• Ortho trauma

Special Equipment

Frequent use of wound vacs and drains will be required.

Scrubs

Navy blue scrubs are required, and will not be provided.

Interview Process
