The unit has 36 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care techs. Telemetry equipment is available in each room with monitors at the stations. Vital signs are monitored using Dynamaps and glucometers. Documentation is performed using Meditech. Shifts are 12 hours long with every other weekend and holiday shifts required. All nurses may float to other units as needed. Patient experience requirements include hourly rounding and bedside shift report. The unit is certified as a Pathways to Excellence and a Certified Stroke Center. A strong nursing background is essential along with thorough assessment skills. Candidates should possess a positive attitude, flexibility, and a desire for excellence. The unit is known for high employee engagement scores and recognition within the organization.
