Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS ACLS Must-Have: Travel experience required Experience in MS/Tele Ability to interpret dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Telemetry monitoring experience Colostomy care and feeding tube management Renal failure experience Blood product administration Peripheral line care and management PICC line management Description: This position is for a float nurse in a high-acuity medical/surgical unit. The nurse will work with patients located within an emergency holding area. Patients may be waiting for inpatient beds and could have a range of adult medical/surgical diagnoses. The nurse may have to care for PCU level patients. Travelers are expected to take on both MS/Tele cases and float to other areas as needed. The unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to February 27, 2027. RTO after booking is not allowed and any call-offs could result in a cancellation. Contract staff will be assigned to work during catastrophic events or disasters. A maximum of one week of RTO is allowed, and every other weekend is required. This work requires the ability to float and care for patients with various diagnoses. Special procedures may include the use of cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and other standard medical equipment. Daily census may vary, and a fast-paced environment is expected. Additional skills in wound care, tracheostomy management, and high-flow nasal cannula usage are preferred. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
