ACLS certification is required prior to submission. The unit has a total of 36 patient beds. There are 49 staff members on the unit. The staffing for day shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 secretary. The staffing for night shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, and 3 PCTs. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1. Equipment used on the unit includes IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, chest tubes, telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, and epidurals. Wound vac changes and wound care are typical procedures performed on the unit. IV insertions and the insertion of indwelling Foley catheters are also performed regularly. Candidates with prioritization and time management skills will be given preference. The best personality fit is someone who is willing to work as a team. Every other weekend shifts are required. On-call shifts may occur when census is low.
