Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Tele

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical/Tele team. This position will primarily focus on caring for patients in a telemetry-capable unit, with a diverse range of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Manage a variety of patient conditions, including respiratory issues, surgical observation, diabetes management, psychiatric observation, and palliative care.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient assessment and care delivery.
• Perform EKG monitoring and assessment as needed.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families about health conditions and medications.

Schedule and Requirements

• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM).
• EOW (Every Other Weekend) schedule required.
• Must be available to work 2 out of 4 holidays.
• Float to other units or facilities may be required based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
• BLS certification is required.
• Candidates will need to pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience is a plus.

Patient Population

The RN will primarily care for patients with:

• Respiratory conditions and problems
• General medical-surgical diagnoses
• Palliative and end-of-life care
• Hospice patients
• Diabetes management, including new and complex cases
• Surgical patients and those under surgical observation
