Responsible for cardiac monitoring and administering cardiac drips. Required to read telemetry strips every 4 hours. TR Band experience is necessary. Must be able to interpret telemetry strips. Patient-to-clinician ratio is up to 5:1 during days and evenings and up to 6:1 at night. Care involves working with emergency department patients and non-vented patients ready for transfer from the ICU. Units vary in bed count from 8 to 41 beds. Rotations include days, evenings, and potential nights depending on the contract. EMR charting system used is EPIC.
