The unit comprises 34 beds with an average census of 32 and 3 surge rooms. Patient types include Med/Tele surgical cases such as ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes/DKA, wounds, and acute/chronic renal failure. Travelers must be comfortable caring for hematology/oncology patients starting in Spring 2026, but do not require chemotherapy certification. Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 at night, with critical surge ratios of 1:7-8. CNA ratios are 1:12 for both day and night shifts. Support staff includes CNAs for patient care, receptionists, charge nurses, and a dedicated 24/7 telemetry monitoring team. The unit utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and has a range of medical equipment for patient care. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed.
