Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care within a busy 31-bed Medical Surgical and Oncology unit. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, demonstrating strong assessment and documentation skills, and adhering to unit policies and procedures. The shift schedule is nights, with work hours totaling 12 per shift, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, at least one year of acute care experience, experience caring for stroke patients, strong physical assessment and documentation skills, knowledge of core measures and prevention of health care associated infections and hospital-acquired conditions, excellent time management and critical thinking skills, understanding of A.I.D.E.T behaviors, NIHSS certification preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Chemo experience is a plus.
- Additional Information: The unit utilizes a documentation system called Meditech, with a focus on patient safety and quality care. The team values experienced staff, offers block scheduling, and uses mobile communication tools such as iPhones via the Immobile app. The unit is a recognized Unit of Distinction and offers an engaging work environment with access to computers and scanners in every room.
