Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact RN license
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience preferred; will consider 18 months of experience with 1 year of recent specialty experience
• Must hold the highest level of professional license held during prior experience
• NURSYS verification required
• Ability to work in a clinical, patient-facing acute care environment
• Must be comfortable with floating expectations and a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a busy acute care setting
• Monitor patients with medical and post-surgical needs, including telemetry and dialysis-related care
• Support recovery for orthopedic and general surgery patients
• Focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications
• Collaborate with nursing staff and ancillary departments to promote safe, effective, patient-centered care
• Maintain a pleasant, comfortable, and secure environment for patients and families
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care needs
