Description:
The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Float position involves providing care to a variety of patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
The role requires the ability to float to different units as needed.
Patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night.
Flexibility to be reassigned outside of the usual department based on patient care needs is essential.
Staffing support includes interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
A wide range of patient diagnoses will be managed, including medical, general surgical, neurology, and orthopedic cases.
The candidate should be capable of delivering care in a high-acuity environment, particularly in a trauma-level facility.
Oncology care will focus on general nursing duties, excluding chemotherapy administration.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in stroke education and management.
All required certifications must be obtained from recognized authorities.
Prior employees must be separated for a minimum of six months before reapplying for travel positions.
Requests for time off will be kept to a minimum, ideally no more than seven days throughout the assignment.
Candidates should possess specialty experience within the last year prior to application.
