Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have Skills: - MS/Tele nursing skills - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Telemetry monitoring - Colostomy care and feeding tube management - Blood product administration - Phlebotomy and PICC line management - Isolation precautions - Non-invasive airway management - Wound care and management Description: This nursing position involves float support within a high-acuity inpatient holding area. Patients will be located in an area where they await inpatient beds in the hospital. The nurse may handle various medical and surgical adult diagnoses. Travelers are expected to take MS/Tele cases and float to different areas as needed. The target patient ratios are 1:6 for MS/Tele cases and 1:4 for PCU level patients. Every other weekend is required for this position. Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters. The unit is fast-paced and involves managing very ill patients. The standard medical equipment includes cardiac monitors and IV pumps. Nursing candidates should be open to floating within the facility as required. RTO must be pre-approved, with a maximum of seven days allowed. Travel pairs are permitted but must be for different units. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
