- Position Description:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a Level 1 Trauma Designation teaching hospital and Stroke Center. The unit handles a diverse patient population with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, and other inpatient care needs. - Required Qualifications:
Current RN license, BLS certification, 2 years of medical-surgical or telemetry experience, proficiency in cardiac drips, IV starts, chest tube management, trach care, glucometer use, and phlebotomy. Valid drivers license and compliance with hospital credentialing requirements. - Schedule:
Shift: Days; Hours: 8-hour shifts; Minimum Hours Per Week: 40. - Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification, certification in med surgical nursing, EKG competency, experience with EMR systems, and skills in patient mobility and safety. - Additional Information:
The role includes orientation consisting of one day of facility-specific training and two days of departmental onboarding. Support staff includes CNAs, resource nurses, and hospitalist and intensivist coverage available 24/7. Travelers may float across all Med/Surg units as needed.
