- Other Details: EKG exam required; navy blue scrubs required; local candidates are not accepted
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- At least 1 year of RN experience required
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
- BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months of hire
- BSN preferred
- EPIC EHR experience preferred
- Preferred certifications: CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke Certification
- Strong telemetry, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg telemetry unit
- Complete comprehensive assessments, develop nursing plans of care, and evaluate patient progress
- Administer medications and manage therapies in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies
- Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in clinical status promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, LPNs, techs, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
- Support patients with orthopedic, bariatric, and medical-surgical needs
- Manage IVs, ports, PICC lines, heparin drips, oxygen support up to 6L nasal cannula, and intermittent BiPAP
- Provide patient and family education, promote safety, and maintain accurate documentation
- Contribute to a team-focused unit environment that values efficiency, accountability, and compassionate care
