Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Nursing Contract in Springfield, Ohio

Travel Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Location: Springfield, Ohio

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
• At least 6 months of recent acute care hospital experience preferred
• Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or eligibility to practice through a compact nursing license
• Current Basic Life Support certification from an approved provider
• Successful completion of an EKG examination required
• Medical-surgical nursing and telemetry experience preferred
• Experience caring for orthopedic, bariatric, and general medical-surgical patients preferred
• Ability to care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, oxygen therapy up to 6 L via nasal cannula, intermittent BiPAP, heparin infusions, IVs, ports, and PICC lines
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to safely lift, move, and reposition patients and perform the physical requirements of bedside nursing

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition requiring timely intervention.
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with nursing standards and applicable policies.
• Manage patients receiving heparin infusions and monitor IVs, ports, PICC lines, oxygen therapy, and intermittent BiPAP.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment, revise the plan of care as needed, and promptly communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate care with providers, nursing teammates, patient support systems, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, safety, and discharge planning.
• Advocate for patient preferences, privacy, dignity, and safety throughout the care experience.
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and care coordination activities accurately in the electronic health record.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through accountability, professionalism, adaptability, and respectful communication.
