Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Holiday rotation required
• Patient Population: Primarily adult medical-surgical patients on a telemetry-capable unit
• Typical Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6

Travel Med/Surg Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to pass a telemetry/EKG competency examination during onboarding
• Proficiency interpreting dysrhythmias and managing patients receiving telemetry monitoring
• Experience caring for patients requiring blood products, heparin, insulin, PCA, IV therapy, isolation precautions, and oxygen via nasal cannula
• Willingness to float to other system locations as needed
• Ability to participate in Charge Nurse assignments, weekend coverage, and holiday rotation

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring needs.
• Assess patients, recognize changes in condition, interpret dysrhythmias, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Administer medications and therapies including heparin, insulin, PCA, blood products, and oxygen.
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and provide ongoing peripheral line and PICC line care.
• Follow isolation precautions and deliver safe, evidence-based care in accordance with unit standards.
• Participate in rapid response and code team interventions when indicated.
• Provide patient and family education, coordinate with the interdisciplinary care team, and document accurately in Epic.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as assigned and support safe patient flow and clinical operations.
• Float to other locations or units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care.
