Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire; preferred at start
• Telemetry, Med/Surg, and dysrhythmia knowledge preferred
• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, TPN, heparin, Lasix, wound vacs, and post-cath lab recovery highly preferred
• Ability to safely care for patients requiring oxygen support, including nasal cannula and CPAP
• Strong assessment, communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with clinical standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Support patients and families with teaching, communication, and advocacy
• Manage common Med/Surg Tele needs such as chest tubes, wound vacs, oxygen therapy, and selected drips
• Prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment with changing patient needs
• Maintain professionalism, safety, and infection control standards at all times
