Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum of 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• Acute care hospital experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS accepted in lieu of BLS
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary care team
• Experience with telemetry and medical-surgical nursing patient care preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Perform and document complete patient assessments and update nursing care plans as needed
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and standards of practice
• Support discharge planning and care coordination across the care team
• Monitor patients with telemetry needs and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Care for patients requiring wound vacs, NG tubes, heparin, Lasix, TPN, oxygen via nasal cannula up to 8L, and CPAP at night
• Educate patients and families to support recovery, comfort, and understanding of care plans
• Promote patient safety, privacy, and quality improvement in every aspect of care
