Job Description

This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The RN will provide quality nursing services and is accountable for the care delivered, utilizing specialized knowledge and judgment to assess data, plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

This role requires experience and comfort in caring for stroke patients, as it operates within a stroke unit. Candidates will be thoroughly vetted by the manager to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and document nursing care in compliance with established policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver effective patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions and care plans.
• Maintain accurate and updated patient records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working with stroke patients.
• Current NIHSS Certification required at the time of submission.
• Willingness to take mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Ability to take Basic EKG and achieve a passing score within 48 hours if offered.
• Active RN license in Maryland required at the time of submission.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.

Shift and Schedule

Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with 36 hours guaranteed each week. Weekend schedules and additional call requirements will be determined by the facility, and candidates should be flexible with their availability.
