Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients with various medical conditions, including cardiac, vascular, surgical, and pulmonary diagnoses in a telemetry setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing medical and surgical conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient health status, vital signs, and other clinical parameters.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in safety and quality initiatives, including infection control protocols.
• Float to other units within the scope of practice as required.

Schedule & Orientation

This position requires 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend. Orientation sessions are held every other week on Thursdays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience and 1 year of in-specialty experience.
• BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or compact state; pending licensure may be accepted.

Additional Information

• 36 hours per week are guaranteed.
• No restrictions on time off (RTO), but must be discussed during the interview.
• Flu vaccination is mandatory during the flu season, unless a documented medical exemption is provided.
• COVID-19 vaccination is not a requirement for this position.

Work Environment

The facility has a total of 32 beds dedicated to Medical/Surgical/Telemetry patients and operates as a Level IV Trauma Center. Staffed with a team committed to education and quality care, the institution values teamwork and professional development.

Scrub Colors

Staff are required to wear royal blue and white scrubs.

Charting System

The electronic health record system used is Cerner.
