Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves working in an acute telemetry setting, focusing on cardiovascular and neurological patient populations. The RN will have the opportunity to provide care to adult and geriatric patients with various cardiac disorders and post-operative conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
• Assist with various procedures such as cardioversion, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and paracentesis.
• Manage patient care related to acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, congestive heart failure, unstable arrhythmias, and cerebral vascular accidents.
• Implement and monitor required drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitroglycerin.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in telemetry, including post-cardiac catheterization and post-angiogram care, is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
• Proficiency in IV start and telemetry monitoring skills.

Work Schedule

There are flexible contract options available, with shifts primarily focusing on night coverage. RNs must be willing to work every other weekend and accommodate occasional floating needs based on facility demands.

Important Information

• Orientation and start dates are scheduled bi-weekly on Thursdays.
• Holiday requests are limited to one of the three major holidays.
