Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit.
The patient population will primarily consist of medical-surgical patients.
The schedule is for three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.
Weekends and holidays may be required as necessary.
Floating may be required if necessary.
All travelers are subject to floating across all facilities.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
The position is open to first-time travelers.
BLS certification is required.
Nurses will need to pass an EKG exam as part of the onboarding process.
The patient population includes observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative care, end-of-life care, hospice patients, and psychiatric observation.
Nurses will provide care for diabetes patients, including new diabetics and those with complications.
Surgical patients and surgical observation are also part of the responsibility.
Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are necessary.
Knowledge in various nursing skills, such as BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube care, and IV management, is essential.
The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare teams, including therapy and pharmacy services.
Patient care will involve adults and geriatric populations.
Daily patient census is typically around 16.
The unit has 30 beds available.
An active nursing license must be held at the time of application.
Candidates must be willing to float between campuses as needed.
All nurses must comply with the EKG exam requirement.
