Description:
Clinical review and auto offer on a 12 bed medical-surgical/telemetry unit.
Patient ratio is 1:4.
Patient diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis.
Nights available with optional 36 or 48 hours per week.
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed.
Position requires every other weekend and every other holiday.
Up to 40 hours for time off may be approved.
Must adhere to float policy.
Experience with Epic charting system is required.
Candidates must have skills in chest tubes, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, patient-controlled analgesia, telemetry, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care/management, and wound care.
Unit support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
Special procedures include nurse-driven heparin infusions, insulin drips via Glucomander, telemetry, and nurse-driven flu vaccinations.
Required special equipment includes lift equipment, HOVER mats, chest tubes, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and wound vacs.
Candidates must comply with floating within their scope of practice as needed.
