Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required. License: Active license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - Acute care rehabilitation experience preferred. - No first-time travelers. - Experience with EPIC charting system required. - EKG exam must be passed (2 attempts allowed). Description: This position requires three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every third weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to different campuses may be required. Interpretation of laboratory results is necessary. Medication reconciliation is part of the responsibilities. Conduct patient health questionnaire history, including allergies. Monitoring vital signs, such as blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse, is essential. Dressing changes and setup for aseptic/sterile procedure trays are required. Capillary and labeling of specimens, including throat and urine clean catch, are also duties. Phlebotomy skills are necessary. Telephone triage, including pharmacy calls and patient refill requests, is expected. The patient population includes individuals with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility. The unit specializes in inpatient rehabilitation care. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:6, though on occasion, a nurse may care for 7 patients with similar acuity. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams, including IV, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Specialized care is provided for patients with rehabilitation needs following events such as stroke, aneurysm, post-operative surgical procedures, brain injury, or spinal cord injury. Candidates must have experience interpreting dysrhythmias. This role requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
