Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position offering 13 to 26 weeks. This role involves working three 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with weekend coverage required every other week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatric patients, focusing on neurology and higher acuity med-surg cases.
  • Maintain and enhance patient experience through dedicated support and care.
  • Monitor and manage patient conditions, including stroke, TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis.
  • Administer medications through the Omnicell system.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and float to other units based on patient care needs and skill set.
  • Participate in special procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Staffing Ratios

The nurse-to-patient ratio on night shifts is 1:6.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid RN license in Tennessee.
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience in a clinical setting is required, specifically with EPIC software.
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
  • Previous travelers are not eligible for this position.

Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement in patient care and experience.

Additional Information

This position may involve floating to other units based on staffing needs. Flexibility and adaptability are essential qualities for this role.
