Please ensure traveler is aware of the following:
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."
There will be an expectation to stay until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.
By signing your travel contract, you accept these conditions and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager in case of an emergency event.
You should not apply for this position if you are not comfortable with the outlined conditions.
Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually, which include Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage.
Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.
Previous charge experience is required, with patient ratio experience of 6.
Experience with charting systems is necessary.
Daily census is approximately 25.
Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
The number of weekend shifts per contract is 8.
The average daily census is 35, with a total of 40 beds.
The unit manages a variety of patient diagnoses, including COPD, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, renal failure, pneumonia, and surgical patients.
Interdisciplinary support is available, including interpretation services.
Special procedures performed may include paracentesis and thoracentesis.
Resources who worked as permanent staff or contractors must have a full year of separation before returning as travel staff.
NURSYS reports for RNs must be included with the application, ensuring they are up to date.
