TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Albemarle, North Carolina, 28001!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 18 months Med/Tele experience - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Description: The facility is a 301 bed medical telemetry unit. It is not a trauma designation hospital and does not serve as a teaching hospital. The unit features 27 beds with an average census of 20. Patient types and common diagnoses include stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed. The nursing staff ratio is 1:5-6, depending on the acuity, and can increase to 1:7-8 with surge staffing. LPNs will share similar patient ratios, and CNAs will have a ratio of 1:9. The required skills for this position include general Med/Tele skill set, stroke experience and NIH assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain and tube management, PCA pump management, and medication management including cardiac drips and blood products. Support within the department includes CNAs who can assist with vital signs, activities of daily living, and certified procedures. Telemetry monitoring is available 24/7, and there are physicians on-site around the clock. The technology and equipment used include an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and telemetry monitors. Nurses may be required to float to different facilities within the region, as necessary, and will remain on the clock during travel between sites. The unit promotes a positive, team-driven culture. Weekend rotations are required every other week, and travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Travelers can approve up to six days off, excluding holidays. Scrub color for the unit is navy blue.
