Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Unit

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Unit. This role requires a patient-centered approach and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various neurological conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members using SBAR methodology.
  • Utilize medication and documentation systems including Pyxis and EPIC.
  • Adhere to established protocols and procedures in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required. NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong teamwork skills and a focused approach to patient safety.
  • Preferred: Neuro experience and willingness to learn the charge nurse role.

Job Details

  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 36 or 48 hours accepted weekly
  • Contract Duration: 13-20 weeks accepted
  • RTO: Maximum of 7 days for automatic offers
  • Float Requirement: Travelers are expected to float to different units as needed.
  • Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts (approximately every other weekend).

Additional Notes

  • Must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
  • Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events and mass casualty situations.
  • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs are required (not provided).
