Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Tennessee

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week. Every other weekend required, subject to facility needs. Contract duration flexible: 13 to 26 weeks available.
Highlights:
- Progressive care step-down unit serving patients transitioning from ICU with telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratio of 6:1 across all shifts with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Manage patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis, atrial fibrillation, and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Administer select cardiac drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation protocols
- Epic EMR system utilized; 24 hours of orientation provided
- 28-bed unit with comprehensive support services and modern equipment
Requirements:
- Active Tennessee RN license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent progressive care or medical-surgical telemetry experience
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with 6:1 patient ratios preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and high-flow nasal cannula
- Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care, cardiac drip management, dialysis patients, and chest tube management preferred
- First-time travelers considered based on experience
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Willingness to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
