Description:
The posted position requires experience in a tele-capable unit with a focus on medical-surgical patients.
The patient population will primarily involve medical-surgical care, with a ratio of 1:5-6.
Charge RN experience is preferred but not mandatory.
All RNs must float to all assigned campuses as needed for patient care.
The role includes responsibilities such as accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration.
Candidates should be skilled in central line blood draws, chest tube management, and colostomy/ileostomy care.
Competency in feeding tube care, heparin administration, and insulin management is also required.
RNs should be capable of interpreting dysrhythmias and implementing isolation precautions.
IV management, pre/post hemodialysis care, and wound care are key responsibilities associated with the role.
Note that candidates must pass a compliance EKG exam and demonstrate proficiency in the EPIC charting system.
Travelers may be required to float to any campus and must have strong patient care skills.
The unit specializes in general surgical patients and provides pre-op and post-op care, ensuring all patient needs are met effectively.
CNA support and a unit secretary will be available to assist with patient care.
Inadequate staffing will not result in RNs exceeding patient ratios.
