Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio typically 1:5-6. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating to other units as needed.

- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis
- 24-hour orientation with structured onboarding and hospital-wide classes during first week
- Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
- Up to 7 days approved time off per contract (must work 2 of 3 major holidays)
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Current North Carolina RN license or Compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Proficiency in Med/Surg and Telemetry skills including remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, wound care, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, hemodialysis management, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, Heparin and PCA protocols
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability and willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
