Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Position Overview

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry care, specifically within an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. The focus is on providing high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older, helping to preserve cognitive and physical function.

Scheduling and Charting Details

  • Shift Hours: Day shifts, 3x12 hours (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Charting: 1 year of EPIC experience required
  • Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Local Candidates: Accepted, with specific radius rule criteria
  • Pending Licenses: Not accepted; an active SC or multistate license is required

Required Certifications

  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

Required Clinical Skills

  • Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
  • IV starts and blood product administration
  • Management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Remote telemetry monitoring
  • Application of heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care
  • Proficient in care focused on geriatric patients

Unit Details

  • Staffing Ratios: 1 RN to 5 patients
  • Unit Capacity: 26 beds in the ACE unit
  • This unit is staffed by Geriatric Resource Nurses and other nursing staff, committed to assisting patients in returning to their pre-admission baseline.
  • Floating Policy: Agency staff may need to float to other units or campuses as required, limited to areas of qualification and documented competencies.
