**Job Description:**
- **Start Date:** 11/30
- **Location:** Kansas City, Missouri
- **Unit Name:** 6 East Ortho/Trauma
- **Number of Beds:** 23
- **Patient Ratios:** 1:4, 1:5
**Unit Specifics:**
- **Support Staff:** Unit Secretary and PCTs available
- **Equipment:** Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
- **Documentation System:** Meditech
- **Scheduling Requirements:**
- 3 twelve-hour shifts
- 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
- **Floating Policy:** Contract labor is first to float; potential floating to other MedSurg level of care units (General MS, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma)
- **Patient Experience Requirements:**
- Bedside shift report
- Hourly rounding
**Hospital Highlights:**
- **Certifications:** Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
**Desired Skills and Qualifications:**
- **Must Have:**
- RN license
- BLS certification
- **Advanced Skills:**
- Ortho experience
- Telemetry
- NIH Stroke Scale
- **Procedures Performed on Unit:**
- Post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
- Trauma patients
- Some Neuro overflow – NIH knowledge is beneficial
**Dress Code:**
- Required uniform: Navy scrubs
