Job Title: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical surgical/telemetry setting. Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry remote monitoring. Competent in managing bowel obstructions and colostomy/ileostomy care. Skilled in feeding tube care and management. Experience in pre/post hemodialysis management. Knowledgeable in renal failure management and blood product administration. Proficient in central line blood draws and peripheral line care/management. Experience with phlebotomy and PICC line management. Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs. Familiar with medication administration, including heparin and insulin. Experience with PCA and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac). Knowledgeable in BiPAP/CPAP management. Skilled in high flow nasal cannula and nasal cannula administration. Competent in non-invasive airway management and oral suctioning. Proficient in oxygen administration and management of oxygen tanks. Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE. Experience with wound care and wound vacs. Description: The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced medical surgical/telemetry environment. They must have experience with patient management and telemetry monitoring. Duties include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and administering medications. Candidates will be responsible for providing wound care and managing IV therapies. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care. They will be expected to engage with patients experiencing diverse medical conditions. Candidates must be flexible and able to float to different units as needed. They should be prepared to work holidays and handle emergency situations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
