Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS (must be AHA) Must-Have Skills/Experience: Medical-surgical experience preferred Description: This is a 198-bed, level III trauma center. It includes state-of-the-art operating suites. The facility provides healthcare services to the surrounding regions. Services include medical, surgical, and rehabilitation care. Additional services are available, such as a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, and extensive imaging and lab testing services. The facility has received awards for its quality of care and aesthetic appeal. The area offers various attractions, including hiking, kayaking, and historical sightseeing. The community is known for its friendly atmosphere and affordability. The patient population is primarily adult. Patient-to-nurse ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6. Equipment available includes vital sign machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps. The electronic health record system used is Cerner. Staff is expected to work at least two weekend shifts per month. Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with oncology skills is helpful, but not necessary. Common diagnoses treated include cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and congestive heart failure. A degree in nursing is required.
