Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day shift, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required; self-scheduling based on unit needs with manager input

Highlights:

  • Post-surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics, urology, and vascular patients
  • Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
  • Epic EMR with Pyxis medication system
  • Contract length: 13 weeks or longer, through February 27, 2027
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • 36-hour orientation provided; occasional floating may be required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Experience with post-surgical care, including general surgery, orthopedics, GI, vascular, and hepatobiliary patients
  • Skills required: blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, PCA, wound care/wound vac, and surgical drain management
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
