Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; 12-16 weekend shifts per contract

Highlights:

  • Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 41-bed census
  • 13 to 26-week contract assignments available with comprehensive 24-hour unit orientation
  • EPIC charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
  • Diverse patient population including medical/surgical diagnoses, COVID patients, stepdown acuity, and telemetry monitoring
  • Comprehensive skill utilization including dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, IV insulin management, wound care/wound vac, and central/PICC line care
  • Up to 7 days of time off available per contract with floating required as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • North Carolina or Compact state RN license (pending license acceptable for submission)
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Proficiency in Med/Surg and Telemetry skills including remote monitoring, rapid response team utilization, and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Experience with blood product administration, colostomy care, feeding tube management, hemodialysis support, and phlebotomy
  • Competency with airway management including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
  • Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed and work weekends throughout contract
  • Must be available to work during catastrophic events or disaster situations as part of Storm/Hurricane Team assignment
