Description:
Orientation is bi-weekly.
This position involves working in a telemetry unit.
The facility has 294 beds and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
It provides various healthcare services including cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics.
The unit has a total of 22 beds.
The patient ratios are typically 5:1 or 6:1.
Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vital signs machines, Hoyer lifts with weight scales, Abbott glucometers, computers on wheels, TR bands, and Baxter IV pumps.
The electronic health record system in use is Meditech.
Supervision is provided by either a clinical staff lead or charge nurse.
Common diagnoses and treatments include congestive heart failure, chest pain, acute respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
Candidates should be team-oriented and flexible.
Preferred skills also include managing discharges and admissions and basic cardiac drip knowledge.
The educational requirement is an associate degree; a BSN is preferred.
Scrub color is not assigned, and artificial nails are not acceptable.
