Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).
Highlights:
- Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with medical-surgical and post-surgical patient population
- Patient ratios typically 5-6:1, may flex to 7:1 in extreme circumstances
- Epic EMR system required
- Contract length: 13 weeks or longer, through February 27 end date
- Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved (no holiday time off available)
- Float requirement to other medical-surgical units within facility based on census needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Required skills: IV start, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with blood product administration, central line care, heparin protocols, PCA, total joint replacement, and ortho trauma
- First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience
- Preferred: ACLS, Charge Nurse experience, Level I Trauma experience
- Must complete EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
